Write to support@handrolled-apps.com. From inside the app, Settings → Get in touch opens a mail to us with the subject filled in.
What helps: your Android version, the app version (shown at the bottom of Settings), what you tapped, and what happened instead. Never send a backup file or a document with other people's messages unless you are sure you want to.
Importing a WhatsApp chat
2doc reads the chat export WhatsApp itself produces, with or without media:
- Open WhatsApp and go to the chat you want to import.
- Tap the three-dot menu in the top right, then More, then Export chat.
- Choose Without media or With media.
- Select 2doc in the share sheet that appears, then tap Import transcript.
Photos from the export appear in the chat when you export with media. Link previews and tappable links are options on the import screen.
Missing texts?
Apps that are not your default SMS app do not see everything. Some texts can be missing from a document or a backup:
- Internet chats (RCS "chat features") are not SMS and can show up only partly, or not at all.
- Blocked or spam-filtered senders can be kept only in your SMS app's own folders.
- Texts deleted in your SMS app, including auto-deleted verification codes, are gone from the phone.
- On newer Android versions the system holds back conversations it has flagged, for every app that is not the default SMS app. To include them, 2doc can become the default SMS app for a moment. Texts keep arriving and are saved unchanged while it is; the app asks you to switch your usual app back as soon as it is done.

Pro, and getting it back
Pro is a one-time purchase on Google Play, tied to the Google account that bought it. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
If you reinstall 2doc, or install it on a new phone signed into the same Google account, Pro comes back on the first launch by itself. If it does not, open Settings → Restore purchases. Check that the Play Store on the phone is signed into the account that made the purchase.
Refunds go through Google Play, not through us. Google's refund policy applies.
Backup and restore
- Backups are saved in the app's private storage, one per type (messages, call log), and the latest replaces the previous one. Share a backup to your own cloud or computer if you want a copy that survives uninstalling the app.
- A password-protected backup cannot be opened without the password, by anyone, including us. There is no reset.
- Restoring messages needs 2doc to be the default SMS app for the duration of the restore. Android requires this; the app asks, and prompts you to switch back when it is done. Picture messages (MMS) that arrive during that short window may not be saved.
- Restore only adds what is missing. It never deletes or changes what is already on the phone.
Known limitations
- RCS chats are out of reach for any app that is not the phone's own messaging app.
- Telegram voice transcription is done by Telegram and counts against your own Telegram Premium allowance or free trial.
- WhatsApp import needs the export file produced by WhatsApp itself; a screenshot or a copied text is not enough.
- There is no cloud sync and no account. Documents and backups live on the phone that made them.
